What is acidosis?
Acidosis is a condition in which the pH value of our blood is decreased towards acidic side or blood becomes acidic.
This consition happens due to variou reasons which are categorized as Metabolic and Respiratory acidosis.
What are symptoms of acidosis?
Following are the list of symptoms of acidosis:
Central Nervous System
- Headache
- Sleepiness
- Confusion
- Loss of consciousness
- Coma
Respiratory System
- Shortness of breath
- Coughing
- Muscular and muculoskeletal system
- Seizures
- Weakness
Heart and cardiovascular
- Arrhythmia
- Increased heart rate
Gastrointestinal
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Vomiting
Treatment of Acidosis
Treatment of Acidosis depends uupon wheather it is respiratory or metabolic.
Respiratory causes can be treated using ventilations and correction of respiratory issues whereas metabolic causes can be treated using sodium bicarbonate and treatment of the cause.
